AFK Journey Faction Tier List: PvP & PvE Rankings

AFK Journey’s six Factions—Lightbearers, Maulers, Wilders, Graveborns, Celestials, and Hypogeans—are more than just lore groups. When enough heroes from the same faction are deployed, they grant ATK or DEF buffs that shape team composition. While roster size and individual hero quality vary, faction meta shares reveal which groups dominate Player vs. Environment (PvE) and Player vs. Player (PvP) modes.

Top-Tier Factions

Graveborn is the strongest overall faction, performing well in both PvP (22% meta share) and PvE (21.4%). Key heroes Thoran and Cecia are rated S+ and essential for progression, with most of the roster (except Salazer) offering reliable value. Wilders follow closely, boasting the highest meta shares: 38% in PvP and 28.5% in PvE. As the primary healer and support faction, heroes like Hewynn and Damian are top-tier across all factions, and Florabelle adds powerful summon synergy. However, Wilder teams are fragile and need durable tanks to survive.

Mid-Tier Factions

Lightbearers, the largest faction with 12 heroes, serve as the starter pool and excel in early PvE (17.8% meta share). However, their PvP performance is inconsistent (11.1%), and only Rowan remains irreplaceable; others can be swapped for better options. Maulers, with 11 heroes, provide reliable damage and healing/support in early-to-midgame, contributing a solid 21.4% PvE share but dropping to 5.5% in PvP. Core heroes like Smokey, Koko, Brutus, and Odie perform well, but the rest of the roster lacks meta impact.
