MLBB M4 World Championship: ECHO Sweeps Blacklist

ECHO delivered a stunning performance at the MLBB M4 World Championship, sweeping defending champions Blacklist International 4-0 in the Grand Final. Blacklist entered the match as heavy favorites, having already defeated ECHO 3-2 in the Upper Bracket Final. However, ECHO turned the tables when it mattered most, claiming their first world title and continuing the Philippines’ stranglehold on the championship.

ECHO’s path to the Grand Final was arduous. After falling to Blacklist in the Upper Bracket Final, they had to battle through the Lower Bracket. They defeated RRQ Hoshi in the Lower Bracket Final less than 24 hours before the championship match. That quick turnaround did not slow them down; ECHO looked refreshed and aggressive throughout the best-of-seven series. They closed the first three games in under 15 minutes each. The fourth game saw Blacklist mount a stronger resistance, but ECHO sealed the victory at the 17-minute mark, completing the sweep.

The M4 World Championship set a new viewership record, peaking at 4.27 million concurrent viewers according to Esports Charts. That mark was reached during the Upper Bracket Semifinal between RRQ Hoshi and Blacklist International. Prize payouts for the top three teams were ECHO ($300,000), Blacklist International ($120,000), and RRQ Hoshi ($80,000). The remaining 13 teams received prize money ranging from $10,000 to $40,000.

Filipino teams have now won every MLBB World Championship since the tournament’s inception. During the Grand Final, Moonton announced that the M5 World Championship will be held in the Philippines. If ECHO qualifies, they will have a chance to defend their title on home soil.
