Livestreamer Threatened Over Alleged Pokemon Vending Machine ‘Method’
A streamer encountered a hostile confrontation at a Pokemon vending machine after a group of men claimed he disrupted their method for obtaining better stock. YungFika was livestreaming a trip to several vending machines on May 31 when he found three individuals standing near one unit. As he began making purchases, the group accused him of ruining their plan.
The men explained they were using a “10-minute method”: they believed leaving a pack inside the machine for ten minutes would trigger a better refresh of available stock. While the exact mechanics of the machines are not publicly known, they do include countermeasures such as staggered stock releases to discourage scalping.
The exchange quickly turned hostile. Group members insulted the streamer, blocked his access to the machine, and told him to leave. After completing his purchase, YungFika reported the group to a store employee. “They’re threatening to fight people,” he told the worker before exiting the store.
Shortly after returning to his car, YungFika realized the men had found his livestream and were using it to locate him in the parking lot. One approached his vehicle and said, “We found your stream.” In response, the streamer handed the man a job application form, implying the group spent time scalping rather than working. As he drove away, the men continued shouting from the parking lot.
