AFK Journey Update 1.4.2 – Patch Notes & New Hero

AFK Journey will undergo server maintenance on June 26 from 07:00 to 08:00 UTC to deploy Version 1.4.2. Players should log out beforehand to protect account data, as the game will be inaccessible during that hour.

New Hero and Content Additions

The update introduces Baelran, the Dawnblade, a new Celestial hero obtainable via Stargaze Station and the Guild Store. Niru and Nara gain Level 2 Enhance Force upgrades. Brimstone Village receives new Reputation Quests, and a fishing side quest called “Reeled In” will uncover clues about the seasonal Fish King. Cyran and Gerda’s Soul Sigils have been added to the Season Store.

Reducing Phase 2 Grind

To address Phase 1 feedback, Phase 2 sees leveling resources and rewards moved into the Season Handbook with time-based claim restrictions. AFK reward caps have been adjusted, and all Phase 2 AFK stages now offer significantly increased rewards to make progression feel less grindy while maintaining earning potential.

Experience and UI Improvements

Themed headwear has been added for Alsa, Ulmus, Marilee, and six other heroes. A new Primal Lord, Magmazard, becomes available from season day 52. Four new beard color variants are now available, and unlocked open-world emojis can be used in chat. The time adjustment button has been moved to the lower-right corner of the mini-map. Selection chests now have restrictions, preventing certain items from being chosen once specific conditions are met. Notifications for when a hero’s Level 2 Enhance Force becomes available have been improved. Several untranslated text and description issues have been fixed.
