Whiteout Survival Exploration Guide – Hero EXP Tips

Exploration is one of the best ways to earn Hero EXP, Steel, and Gear fodder in Whiteout Survival. The deeper you push into the stages, the better your AFK rewards become. Those rewards cap out after nine hours, so log in regularly to keep them flowing. Clear rewards also increase with difficulty, and every fifth stage is a boss fight that drops extra Hero Shards and Skill Manuals. One early milestone you should aim for is Stage 200 — after that, Gear starts dropping alongside Hero EXP, giving you valuable fodder to upgrade your equipment.

      Combat Basics

Your formation always uses five heroes: two on the frontline and three in the backline. The frontline should be your tanks — heroes like Sergey who can absorb damage — while the backline holds your damage dealers and supports. Only Exploration-type hero skills matter in this mode, so invest your skill manuals into those abilities first. Ignore Expedition skills here; they won’t help.

      Escorts and Class Advantage

Each hero brings a squad of Escorts into battle. The number of Escorts scales with the hero’s level, so leveling your heroes directly boosts their combat power. Heroes also have a Class — Infantry, Lancer, or Marksman — and these create a rock-paper-scissors damage bonus: Infantry deals 10% extra damage to Lancers, Lancers deal 10% extra to Marksmen, and Marksmen deal 10% extra to Infantry. Always check the enemy lineup and try to pick heroes whose Class counters the opponent’s strongest heroes.
