Roleplay UK Boiler Room: GTA V’s Underground Rave

I still remember the thrill of sneaking into illegal warehouse parties as a teen—the bass bleeding through brick walls, the promise of something forbidden. That same electric buzz hit me when I heard about Roleplay UK’s ‘BOILER ROOM’ event: a fan-made rave tucked beneath the Vanilla Unicorn strip club in Los Santos. Organiser Liam Miller, a fellow techno head and sergeant in the Arms of Outcasts MC, wanted to recreate the real-world Boiler Room vibe inside GTA V’s roleplay scene. And he did it with style.

      Building the Hype

Miller started months ahead by creating an in-character Tweedle account called ‘Boiler Room’, posting cryptic messages with no context. He plastered posters across the city hinting at an invite-only underground dance event. The secrecy worked. He reached out to leaders of organised crime outfits, offering personal invites that made the event feel exclusive and dangerous. “People tend to be lured by what they don’t know,” Miller told me. The server staff built a custom interactive elevator behind a disused building, leading down to a fully-fledged club set in a bunker. Suddenly, the rumour mill was spinning.

      Logistics and Immersion

Planning was Miller’s solo baby until the night itself. He used Discord to coordinate food and drink orders, hire DJs and photographers, and manage in-game costs. The Tiki Bar provided catering. A bespoke narcotic called ‘NØISE’, created by developer BOBINZ, added another layer of immersion—Miller roleplayed it being smuggled in from overseas. The attendee count hit 96 on the first night, with revellers dancing non-stop. “People were chatting about the made-up drug in the city for months afterwards,” he said.
