How I Triggered the Trail’s End Quest in Silksong: A Player’s Guide
I still remember the frustration of wandering through Bellhart’s Wish Board, staring at empty slots, wondering why Shakra’s plea for help never showed up. But after hours of trial and error, I finally triggered the Trail’s End quest in Hollow Knight: Silksong — and let me tell you, the reward is absolutely worth it. If you’re stuck like I was, here’s exactly how I did it, step by step.
What Is the Trail’s End Quest?
Trail’s End is a Wayfarer-type quest, much like the My Missing Brother quest. Shakra, the wandering warrior, is searching for her master, and she asks Hornet — that’s you — to meet her in the sewers near the Citadel, also known as Bilewater. Completing it rewards you with Shakra’s gratitude and a powerful tool: the Throwing Ring. Sounds simple, right? But triggering it? That’s where things get tricky.
How to Trigger the Quest
First things first: you need to grab the quest from the Wish Board in Bellhart. Of course, the Bellhart curse must be removed for the board to display any available quests, and you can only pick it up in Act 2. But what if the Trail’s End quest just won’t appear? I ran into that exact problem. Here’s what solved it for me:
-
Locate Shakra and purchase all the map pieces if you haven’t already. This is crucial — she won’t offer the quest if you haven’t bought her maps.
-
Complete the first and second batches of wishes already on the board. The game seems to gate new quests behind your progress.
-
Try acquiring some Melodies, like the Architect’s and Vaultkeeper’s, after defeating the Cogwork Dancers boss. I grabbed both, and the quest popped up shortly after.
